Dr. Wolf

Emergency Veterinarian

With 13 years of experience in veterinary medicine, Dr. Wolf brings a calm, steady hand to the high-stakes environment of the VEHC emergency department. Her academic journey began with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Mary Washington, followed by her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the VA-MD Regional College of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Wolf thrives in the "chaos" of emergency medicine, where her ability to maintain a cool head under pressure is a vital asset for her patients and their families. Her clinical interests are broad, with specializations in critical care, diagnostic ultrasound, wound management, internal medicine, and hospice/palliative care. She is energized by the "big wins" of ER medicine and the ability to provide instant, life-saving care to her community.

Dr. Wolf’s best advice for pet owners is that an ounce of prevention truly is worth a pound of cure, particularly by keeping up with heartworm medication and vaccines.

When she isn't in the ER, Dr. Wolf is a true nature enthusiast who enjoys hiking, kayaking, and exploring new places. As a native of the Appalachian Mountains, she is a passionate conservationist who has grown an ecosystem from scratch and dreams of restoring forests to save as many species as possible. At home, she enjoys gardening and creating art, and she still fondly remembers the fun of playing the trumpet in a marching band.

Her home is shared with her own "pack" of three beloved hounds: Swift, a 10-year-old retired racing greyhound and sassy matriarch; Eggs, a 7-year-old retired racing greyhound who is a big, sweet, goofy boy; and Birb, a 1.5-year-old windhound who is the silly and playful newest member of the family. If she could have any superpower in the ER, it would be the ability to ask her patients what is wrong and hear their answers, just like Dr. Dolittle.

Why she loves VEHC: the whole team inspires me to be the best doctor and patient advocate that I can be. We build each other up and keep a positive team atmosphere.
