Dr. Karriker
As our Medical Director, Dr. Karriker specializes in trauma, transfusion medicine and complex autoimmune disorder management. Her elite training and calm leadership ensure that every patient at VEHC receives the best life-saving emergency care available.

After discovering his talent for high-pressure medicine at Kansas State University,
Dr. Telenko now specializes in life-saving stabilization and emergency surgery. He is committed to providing gold-standard care and advocating for every patient’s recovery.

With 13 years of experience,
Dr. Short brings a seasoned perspective to our triage team. She specializes in stabilization, antibiotic stewardship, and pain control for critical cases. She is a published author on specialized surgery and excels at navigating complex emergencies for both domestic and exotic pets.
